Which pets have left paw prints on your heart?

Many pets have left paw prints on my heart. When growing up, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by a range of animals whom I loved and cared for. From rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, chickens, horses, sheep and even ducks! But one pet that stuck with me the most was my childhood dog named Custard. She was a loving, energetic cream-coloured spoodle and I miss her everyday.

Why did you become a vet nurse and what do you enjoy most about your job?

Ever since I was younger I always found myself volunteering my time with animals, as animal welfare has always been a big value of mine. I truly believe every pet that walks into the clinic should be treated as our own. My auntie, who is also a vet nurse, inspired me to pursue this profession. She always has amazing stories to share and how everyday she makes a difference. What I enjoy most at the clinic is getting to meet all our clients and their pet’s goofy, unique personalities. Staying busy, inspired and cuddling puppies is also a big perk too!

How do you relax when you’re not at work?

Although I do enjoy a good movie with popcorn, out of work you’ll most likely find me spending time in the ocean boating, fishing and snorkelling. I value spending time with my friends and family most of all!

Share something weird or wonderful about yourself.

A few years ago I fostered an abandoned duckling and named him Mr.Pickles (because I loved pickles). Weirdly enough most of my previous pets are named after food.
