Dr Sam Amirgoodarzi DVM

Owner Director / Principle Veterinarian

Dr. Sam’s journey in veterinary medicine is one marked by dedication, passion, and a love for animals that spans continents. Graduating overseas in 2008, Dr. Sam made Australia his permanent home in 2011, where he has since made a significant impact in the veterinary industry. With a particular interest in surgery, Dr. Sam has been actively involved in various aspects of veterinary medicine, honing his skills and expertise over the years. In 2022, Dr. Sam achieved a milestone in his career by becoming the Owner/Principal Veterinarian at Vet Connection East Fremantle, where he continues to provide exemplary care to his patients. A fascinating facet of Dr. Sam’s life is his background as a mathematical Olympiad during his school days, where many assumed he would pursue a career in engineering. However, Dr. Sam’s genuine passion for animal welfare and his love for medicine led him down a different path, one that he has embraced wholeheartedly as a dedicated veterinarian. Outside of work, Dr. Sam finds joy and fulfillment in family life, cherishing precious moments with his two sons and two adorable fur babies named Charlotte and Ruby. With his unwavering commitment to animal welfare, coupled with his diverse skills and experiences, Dr. Sam embodies the essence of compassionate care and excellence in veterinary medicine.

Meet Madi, one of the newest additions to our team at The Vet Connection, serving as the Practice Administrator and aspiring to be Dr. Sam’s trusted right-hand person. With a background rooted in her love for animals, Madi’s journey has taken her from studying at Murdoch University with hopes of becoming a veterinarian to her current pursuit of obtaining her Cert IV in vet nursing. Despite a change in plans, Madi’s passion for the animal industry has only deepened. After taking time off from university to travel and gain more experience in the field, she found her way to The Vet Connection. A transformative experience as a vet intern in South Africa solidified her dedication to working in animal care, particularly igniting a newfound love for tigers. Having called Perth home for the past 3 years after relocating from Victoria, Madi is known around the clinic for her multitasking abilities and warm demeanor. While she may be juggling multiple tasks, she always makes time to shower your furry friends with cuddles and affection. With her unwavering dedication, diverse experience, and boundless love for animals, Madi is a valuable asset to The Vet Connection team, ensuring that both our clinic operations run smoothly and your pets receive the care and attention they deserve.

Dr Maz Mahouti BSc BVMS

Meet Dr. Maz, a passionate veterinarian dedicated to providing exceptional care to your beloved pets. With a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from KIAU in Iran and a requalification with a BVMS from Murdoch University in 2018, Dr. Maz brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to The Vet Connection. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Maz is a devoted family man with two kids and a furry companion named Spot. His love for animals extends beyond the clinic walls, enriching the lives of both his patients and his own beloved pet. Dr. Maz has a special affinity for addressing skin issues in dogs and is deeply committed to staying at the forefront of veterinary medicine. His keen interest in surgery and laboratory work reflects his dedication to providing comprehensive care tailored to the unique needs of every patient. Dr Natasha Pool BSc BVMS

Veterinary Surgeon

Meet Natasha, a compassionate and dedicated veterinarian with a lifelong passion for animal welfare. Originally from South Africa, Natasha’s journey in veterinary medicine began at Murdoch University, where she graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. From the tender age of 3, Natasha knew that being a vet was her calling, driven by her deep love for animals and her innate desire to help them. After graduation, Natasha’s interest in small animal practice led her to join a large emergency clinic in Perth, where she has continued to excel in providing top-notch care to her patients. Initially starting with locum work at The Vet Connection, Natasha quickly fell in love with the clinic atmosphere and the dedicated staff, prompting her decision to become a permanent member of the team. For Natasha, the greatest joy in her job comes from being able to provide the best possible care to her patients, ensuring they have a great quality of life, filled with happiness and free from pain. Outside of work, Natasha finds solace and joy in spending time with her husband and three active children. Their family includes a gorgeous but mischievous Weimaraner and a 30-year-old long-billed corella. With a shared love for birds, they also breed and hand-raise cockatiels, adding even more love and warmth to their bustling household. With her unwavering dedication, genuine love for animals, and commitment to excellence in veterinary care, Natasha is an invaluable asset to The Vet Connection team, ensuring that every patient receives the highest standard of care and compassion.

Dr Colette Sims, BSc, BVMS

Veterinary Surgeon

Meet Dr. Colette, a passionate veterinarian dedicated to providing top-notch care for your beloved pets. Graduating from Murdoch University in 2012, Dr. Colette embarked on a journey that initially led her through a career in organic chemistry and drug discovery. However, her lifelong dream of working with animals beckoned, and she eventually pursued her calling to become a veterinarian. With a warm and welcoming approach, Dr. Colette takes great joy in meeting clients and their furry companions. She understands the importance of creating a comfortable environment during vet visits and values collaboration with pet owners to ensure the best possible outcomes for their beloved animals. Beyond her veterinary practice, Dr. Colette leads an active lifestyle filled with adventure. She finds solace in traveling, camping, hiking, and participating in ultramarathons. Recently, she has embraced the challenge of triathlons, aspiring to conquer the full Ironman distance in the future. At home, Dr. Colette shares her life with two spirited canine companions, Snowy Jackson and Mishka, who constantly keep her on her toes. You might even catch them enjoying treats together in the clinic garden!

Meet Brooke, a dedicated member of The Vet Connection team who brings passion and expertise to her role as a veterinary nurse. Graduating from South Metro Tafe in 2021 with a merit certificate, Brooke has been an invaluable asset to our clinic for the past 3 years. In the recovery room, Brooke is there to ensure your furry friends feel safe and comfortable during their stay. With her caring touch and compassionate demeanor, she goes above and beyond to provide the highest level of care. Brooke’s love for animals extends beyond the clinic walls. Before pursuing a career in vet nursing, she dedicated her time to volunteering at local farms and fostering animals in need. At home, she shares her life with two chihuahuas, indulging her soft spot for small doggies and their big personalities. Outside of work, Brooke enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. You’ll often find her embracing the great outdoors through camping, fishing, and horse riding adventures. With Brooke’s dedication and love for animals, your pets are in excellent hands at The Vet Connection.

For Mihsty, the bond between humans and animals is a source of profound comfort and joy. The trust and unconditional love they offer while she works are gifts she cherishes deeply. Through her role as a nurse, Mihsty sees the opportunity to positively impact the lives of countless animals and their human companions. Believing in the importance of good health and well-being for every animal, Mihsty is committed to providing exceptional care and support. Originally from the UK, Sarah embarked on a remarkable journey that led her to settle in Perth, where she raised a family and pursued her passion for animals. After retraining as a Veterinary Nurse, Sarah graduated from South Metro Tafe in 2020 and promptly joined The Vet Connection that same year. Sarah’s connection with animals dates back to 2002, but a brief detour into the corporate world temporarily diverted her path. However, she found her way back to her true calling, and today, she feels fulfilled working in the animal industry, doing what she loves most. Sarah finds joy in interacting with the pet owners who visit the clinic daily, building connections and sharing in their love for their furry companions. Outside of work, Sarah cherishes time spent with her husband and two children, indulging their shared love for travel and adventure. She also enjoys staying active through activities like tennis and paddleboarding. Completing their family at home are two beautiful spoodles, who bring endless joy and companionship. With her dedication, warmth, and love for both animals and people, Sarah is an integral part of The Vet Connection team, ensuring that every pet receives the care and attention they deserve.

Sarah brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for animal care to The Vet Connection, joining our team at the beginning of 2024 after graduating from Applied Vocational Training in 2023. From a young age, Sarah dreamt of becoming a veterinary nurse, drawn to the variety of the role and the opportunity to provide comfort and care to all the patients that come through the clinic doors. Sarah’s journey in animal care began early, working in a local pet shop since high school and mastering the art of caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, fish, and even axolotls. Her dedication to animal welfare extended further as she volunteered at WA wildlife for two years, nurturing native animals and preparing them for release back into their natural habitat. At home, Sarah’s love for animals shines through, with two golden retrievers, a sleek black cat, three rabbits, and two cockatiels filling her life with joy and companionship. When she’s not tending to her furry and feathered friends, Sarah enjoys reading, sewing, or immersing herself in the water. Sarah finds solace and tranquility in nature, especially when camping off-grid in the bush, relishing the serenity of the outdoors. A fun fact about Sarah: she was a competitive artistic swimmer, formerly known as synchronized swimming, and competed in numerous national championships with her team. With her diverse skill set, unwavering dedication, and love for animals, Sarah is an invaluable member of The Vet Connection team, ensuring that every patient receives the utmost care and attention.

From a young age, Casey was captivated by their commitment to wildlife conservation and knew she wanted to make a difference. In 2023, Casey achieved her dream of graduating as a vet nurse. At the clinic, Casey showers your fur babies with cuddles and care, ensuring they feel safe and loved during their visit. Outside of work, Casey leads an active and fulfilling life. Whether she’s enjoying sports, walking her dog, cuddling her reptiles, or being greeted with “are you making biscuits?!” by her two cats, Casey’s love for animals knows no bounds. For Casey, working in the animal industry isn’t just a job—it’s a calling and a blessing. From furry companions to those with scales or feathers, Casey’s heart and passion for all life shine bright, making her an invaluable asset to The Vet Connection team. With Casey by your side, you can rest assured that your beloved pets are in caring and capable hands.

Meet Kelly, the newest member of The Vet Connection team, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a passion for veterinary nursing. Joining us in March 2024 from New Zealand, Kelly comes with a background in general practice from the prestigious veterinary teaching hospital at Massey University. Graduating from the Bachelor of Veterinary Technology program in 2021, Kelly’s dedication to animal care shines through in all aspects of her work. She finds joy in every aspect of vet nursing, but particularly delights in meeting pet owners and utilizing low-stress handling techniques to ensure our furry friends feel comfortable and at ease during their time at the clinic. Kelly’s nurturing nature means she always makes time to give each patient an extra cuddle, spreading warmth and comfort throughout the clinic. Outside of work, Kelly finds relaxation and joy in baking delicious treats, tending to her garden, and spending quality time with her husband and three cherished cats—Freddie, Millie, and Bonnie. With her caring touch, dedication, and love for animals, Kelly is an invaluable addition to The Vet Connection team, ensuring that every patient receives the highest standard of care and compassion.

Veterinary Student, Tasha Warren

Veterinary Student

Meet Tasha, a passionate member of The Vet Connection team who joined us in 2023 while pursuing her studies in Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University, with graduation set for 2025. Tasha’s journey into veterinary medicine is as diverse as it is inspiring. Originally studying marine science, Tasha had the opportunity to work with a variety of marine creatures, including sea turtles, seals, dolphins, and whales, both in Australia and overseas. While she enjoyed scientific research, her passion for medicine and the desire to make an immediate impact in her day-to-day life led her back to Australia from the UK. She obtained her cert 3 in animal studies and then made the move to Perth to pursue her dream at Murdoch University. From a very young age, Tasha knew she wanted to work with animals. Her love for wildlife, exotics, as well as cats and dogs, is evident in her dedication to their care. The most rewarding aspect of her job is witnessing her patients improve and forming positive connections with their owners. In whatever spare time Tasha manages to find (which isn’t much, given the demands of vet school), she enjoys reading, crocheting, and gardening. Despite her busy schedule, Tasha’s unwavering passion for veterinary medicine and her commitment to making a difference shine through in all that she does.

Meet Caitlin, a dedicated member of The Vet Connection team who joined us at the end of 2023 while pursuing her Veterinary Medicine degree at Murdoch University. With a background in Animal Science, Caitlin transitioned into vet med driven by her passion for animals and the endless opportunities it offers to work with various species. Inspired by her experiences alongside veterinarian family members, Caitlin is committed to providing top-notch care for pets and their owners. She thrives in team environments, enjoying the collaborative problem-solving process. Caitlin finds great joy in meeting everyone’s adorable pets, each with their own unique personalities and stories. Outside of work and studies, Caitlin enjoys long walks at the beach with her dog Ajax and serves as the goalkeeper for the Suburban Lions premier league hockey team. With her dedication and love for animals, Caitlin is an invaluable part of our team at The Vet Connection, ensuring that every pet receives the highest standard of care and attention.

Our newest addition to the Vet Connection family is Eloisa. Currently pursuing her veterinary studies at Murdoch University, Eloisa brings a fresh perspective and boundless enthusiasm to our team. As she navigates her academic journey, she has the privilege of learning from our esteemed medical experts, honing her skills and knowledge under their guidance. At home, Eloisa shares her space with a dignified feline named Beetle and a lively flock of chickens that brighten her backyard. What sets her apart is her remarkable ability to find solace amidst the rigors of academia and life’s demands. Whether she’s snuggled up on the couch with her cherished companions or exploring the tranquility of nature, she embodies a spirit of balance and resilience. Beyond her academic pursuits, Eloisa finds joy in a diverse range of interests. From mastering the art of crochet (apologies to any lecturers who’ve been captivated by her skill during class) to embracing the serenity of the gym and nurturing meaningful friendships, she approaches life with curiosity and zest. Allow us to share a unique tidbit about Eloisa—a testament to her adventurous spirit. Imagine this: a parrot’s bite, drawing blood and leaving her bruised for weeks. Surprisingly, this incident occurred during a reptile placement, where she fearlessly engaged with majestic serpents. Eloisa’s presence enriches our team, and we’re thrilled to support her as she continues to grow and thrive in her veterinary journey.
